New Oras City Airport Webletter #1

New Oras City Airport Webletter #1

Welcome to the first edition of the New Oras City Airport Webletter. This quarterly webletter will inform you of where we are spending our recent government investment to show how we are providing you with a better experience.

We've already upgraded the check-in area by moving flagship carrier, Oras Air, into a private upstairs check-in area. We have also rezoned check-in area A and undertaken work with Emirates to provide a bespoke check-in experience for passengers heading to Dubai and beyond. TUI remains untouched in check in area B with easyJet, GrogAir and Jet2 being shuffled in check-in area A. We hope to provide permanent desks to other airlines in the future and are working on new check-in zones.

On landside, we are aware of the lack of retail units. Previously, Happy Cade was available landside as the only retail outlet before being replaced with the new Oras Interchange entrance. We are looking into working a flexible space for people to meet, work and relax no matter what they are doing. We are also placing applications for retail units in the coach station in currently unused space. This application is pending with the Ministry of Tourism, which is the leaseholder of the Coach station.

We are currently working with Transport for Oras to reduce bottlenecks and confusion with the new gate system in Oras Interchange. Passengers for the metro have boarded the wrong lift and been unable to make it to their train on time. On the other hand, passengers have been unable to exit the station easily due to overcrowding by the barriers.

We are also working on upgrading your terminal experience. Our first plan is to connect the old terminal to the existing terminal building and refurbish the space to make it fit for departing and arriving passengers heading to non-UK destinations.

Once this has been opened, we will be ready for the New Year demand of tourism and university students returning to New Oras. We look for this to be done by the new year, with work nearly complete and undergoing safety testing. Monitoring demand, we have also placed a temporary notice on a terminal expansion for UK flights and are converting our current main terminal gates (1-6) all into non-UK departure gates. Currently, gate 1 is allocated for Emirates, and Oras Air and gates 5-6 are for other non-UK departures. This comes amidst new laws surrounding New Oras' immigration law. A west wing expansion would allow us to manage demand amongst a growing European tourism market, especially from Germany and Albania. This would also lead to new retail space, providing local businesses with the opportunity to expand into a captive market.

New Oras City Airport is also unveiling a new logo. The New Oras City Airport logo will no longer be a wordmark and will be updated to include the modern name of the country. Also following the Equal Language Act, the logo features both English and Orasian text. Our new logo signifies the connectivity of the airport. You're now able to travel to nearly anywhere in the world with only 1 stop from New Oras. The airport continues to use shades of blue as the main brand colours.
